LIRS: The Lexington School For Recording Arts

LIRS: The Lexington School For Recording Arts will teach you how to be an Audio Engineer.
“From the first day, students will dive head first into the recording world. Using a process that dates back to Michelangelo and Da Vinci, students work side by side with their mentors (professional audio engineers). They learn by doing. The marriage of old world philosophy….apprenticeship and modern technology…combine to give the student one-on-one hands on experience as well as digital instruction.
Instructors lead the students through a variety of recording sessions that could include individual solo artist, duos, quartets or full bands. Students get real world experience recording in all genres of music including country, rock, rap, jazz gospel and blues. Did you know that microphone placement is critical? The style of music and the sonority of the instrument being recorded dictate position and the type of transducer required to capture the desired essence and soul of the music. The instructors walk the student through the entire process; setup, tracking, mixing, and mastering.”
