SPARQCODE – QR Code
by CpU on Dec.08, 2010, under News
No, this is not an inkblot test! That is a QR Code, which is the future of connecting mobile users to the products and services we use every day. Generate a QR Barcode for your phone number, SMS number, location/map, URL, or contact information. By displaying your unique QR Code in your advertisements, you can connect your mobile customers with quick access to specials and information specific about your product or services.
QR Barcodes are easy to create with a QR Code Generator.
QR stands for Quick Response, created by Denso-Wave in 1994. This barcode was designed to quickly connect users at a click of a button, while preserving space. The QR barcode has taken a few steps forward since tracking parts during manufacturing per its initial design. QR Codes have evolved by connecting the active world with specific information based on location. Find out more unique information about QR codes from Wikipedia.
See one of these QR codes somewhere? On your mobile phone, go to www.sparq.me – and download the required application. A list of mobile phones can be found on the support list. Once you have your mobile phone enabled for QR Codes, you simply snap a picture and off you go! The unique arrangement of pixels has hardcoded information that will then link to that info in the necessary fashion. Transfer contact information directly to your phone by scanning your new acquaintance’s QR Code without having to type it in ever again!
Free $5 Amazon.com e-Gift Card – Swagbucks
by CpU on Dec.04, 2010, under Advice, News, Swagbucks, Xtra
I just earned a $5 Amazon.com e-Gift Card from Swagbucks in day! It wasn’t hard, all I did was search the internet through their Swagbucks Search Portal and completed a couple of easy surveys. I don’t usually recommend survey’s, but these ones I qualified for, and took me about a day to earn 450 Swagbucks which got me this e-Gift Card from Amazon.com. Now that does not mean I was on Swagbucks.com for 24 hours straight. I spent about 20 minutes on 2 surveys and did some of my usual internet searching through their website.
The $5 Amazon.com e-Gift Cards add up, and soon will be enough to purchase the latest from the store that has almost everything.
So what are you waiting for? Get on Swagbucks and do your normal internet searching, fill out a few questionnaires, and get some free stuff for it. Pretty simple isn’t it? ![]()

Rip-Off Report: BW Service Experts–Michiana
by CpU on Nov.05, 2010, under Business, Michiana, News
If you are looking to get your furnace fixed this winter, try to avoid BW Service Experts for your next heating and cooling system repair in Mishawaka, Elkhart, or South Bend.
Why? Because they overcharge for parts and labor. They do not calculate your service charge based on the amount of time spent, parts costs (plus a little profit of course). Instead they have a set price for the part and install. What to expect if you have to change the ignition board on your furnace.
Expect a quote of $475 for the part and labor. This does not include the initial fee for them to come look at your furnace.
Lets break down this quote because the technician will most likely not tell you how much you are paying for parts, and how much you are paying for labor. Don’t forget tax (but who knows what that taxable amount is unless you drill the tech for lack of information.)
A typical ignition board costs roughly $100-200 give or take. Mine particularly was $109.00.
So breaking down the costs directly:
| Service/Diagnostics Fee: | $100 |
| Replacement Part Cost: | $120 (Shipping, Tax) |
| Labor: | $355 |
| Total: | $575 |
Now how hard is this part to replace? Not hard – actually it took an 8-minute video on HVAC for Beginners to replace a much similar board.
So to sum things up, for roughly 60 minutes of work, they earn $355 plus the $100 diagnostics fee (Or we call that labor). Rip-Off Report Confirmed – and if you are looking to have work done on your next heating and cooling equipment, I suggest you find a local company that isn’t controlled by CORPORATE fingers.
The one thing this company did right was walk away from the diagnostics fee. Offered with out my request after I broke down the numbers over the phone with the manager that could not be found that evening. I did not have any work done and excused the tech from my house. He was happy to leave while also leaving my door open to the cold weather. Standing two feet from my back door (as it was wide open) waiting for his fee while I spend 20 minutes trying to get ahold of someone who can explain this poor service and untrustworthy business practices.
When the technician makes sighs and statement like, “I hope you have a credit card, last time I did one it was expensive.” Be worried and do your homework. There are plenty of hardworking American Companies who deserve your money and BW Heating and Air-conditioning in Mishawaka, South Bend, and Elkhart is NOT one of them.
The location I experienced this is in the Mishawaka, Elkhart, South Bend Area.
The Sims 3 – xBox 360 Guide: Tinker away!
by CpU on Oct.31, 2010, under The Sims 3 - Guide
First thing you will want to do is read one skill into Handiness to start tinkering with objects around the house. Go to your bookshelf and start reading volume 1 of your handiness book. Once your skill bar fills up, you can start tinkering items such as:
- Stove
- Dishwasher
- T.V.
- Toilet
- Sinks
- Shower
- Computer
Tinkering is a great way to increase your handiness skill for your job. So while you are upgrading your house hold items to do more things, you also will start earning raises and benefits from gaining more levels in that skill.
You will first need to tinker the items 1-2 times until they will start showing you upgrades. Upgrades include self-cleaning, fire resistant, and unbreakable. You can only have one so what I usually do is pick the unbreakable and allow my maid service to clean everything everyday. This creates a hassle free environment, but you will have to fix things here and there – but that’s okay! Fixing things increases your handiness skill even more allowing you to complete repairs and handiness tasks quickly and easily.
When tinkering electronics, you end up giving that electronic more options for the Sims to do. More T.V. Stations, different things to do on the computer, and much more. Find out what the upgrades do, and start swinging away… Don’t worry your Sim won’t break it – Hopefully!
The Sims 3 – Xbox 360 Guide: Getting rid of Ghosts
by CpU on Oct.31, 2010, under The Sims 3 - Guide
Ghost are inevitable, and you will find that out quick in Sims 3. But what do you do with ghosts that are in your personal space? Whether they are ghosts from your family, or unfortunate events that took place within your home – They can get annoying…
Ghost that you can’t control:
When someone dies, a urn appears and during random times (usually at night) that ghost will start running around and doing what ever it wants. Time to get rid of this ghost quick and easy. Wait till the ghost goes back into the remains urn and then pick up the urn… Keep it if you would like, but it is smart to head over to the cemetery and drop it off… You can also sell this item – but who’d want to do that…
Ghosts from your family – You are done with them!
It’s time to let go and face the music that your dead grandpa isn’t coming back. Well that is unless you get an opportunity to take his remains over to the science lab and have an experiment done on him… that’s another chapter.
There is a really simple way to get ride of the ghost and that is to activate the Sims controls, click on the dead Sim, and then send him to the Netherlands… Say buh-bye because you’ll never see your big salary again. Hopefully you earned enough dough to partner in a business so that your family can live on to become the millionaire your fell short of becoming.
I suggest having some fun with the ghosts and using them to tinker and upgrade things. You can always send them off to terrorize someone you dislike!
